Beloved Star The actor Pat Finn, Famed For Roles in Seinfeld and The Middle, Has Died at Age 60.
American performer Finn, who was seen in beloved TV shows including Friends, "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has passed away aged 60.
The comedic improv actor succumbed at his home in LA this Monday having undergone treatment for a cancer diagnosis since 2022, according to media reports.
"Pat considered no one a stranger - only friends he had yet to meet," his relatives stated in a statement.
They added that he had "lived his life fully - with happiness and energy".
A Notable Career on Screen
His initial on-screen part was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he portrayed the lead character's sibling.
He was also seen in a recurring role on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He starred as a party host named Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, depicting a social organizer famous for delegating unpleasant chores to his guests.
During the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he made guest appearances on numerous well-known programs, like:
- "King of Queens"
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- House, M.D.
His most famous role for playing Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight series from 2011 to 2018.
His cinematic roles encompass It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Off-Screen Life
Outside of his television work, Finn was a skilled improviser and worked as a teacher at the Colorado university, where he was a faculty member.
He was involved with a six-person improv troupe called "Beer Shark Mice".
"He coached, befriended and mentored many learners over the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find someone anywhere who has an unkind word to say about him," his family wrote.
Offering condolences, colleague and actor Richard Kind remarked there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Always positive, making those around him better and funnier. A great dad, a great guy," he shared on social media.
Finn is survived by his spouse Donna, his three kids, and his family.
