Explore 29 New Cards from Magic's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Set (Featuring a Commander Deck!)

The world's favorite pizza-eating heroes are arriving to the popular trading card game. The well-known TCG's publisher, the game's creators, revealed a much-awaited Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion during a special panel held at NYCC. Could this be a radical addition or yet another Universes Beyond marketing move? Let you decide.

Check out here at all the details announced from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, including some useful background. Everything mentioned below releases on March 6, 2026, with one exception — the Pizza Bundle drops a couple of weeks after on March 27th.

Magic x TMNT: Core Set Reveals

Before diving into the many unique products and collections available, let’s take a look at the full lineup from the main Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set that were revealed by the developers. Play boosters for the set are set at $6.99 each, while Collector Boosters should run $37.99 per booster.

Let's unpack a couple of surprising details. To begin, there's a new mechanic named Sneak, inspired by the pre-existing Ninjutsu ability, where gamers can play powerful creatures onto the game field when an attacking creature goes unblocked. The key change here is that Sneak can apply to non-creature spells too. Wizards also used this chance to clean up the mechanic a bit (Sneak counts as playing a spell, unlike the older mechanic). The original ability is staying, but it's more likely players will encounter Sneak in upcoming expansions from now on.

“If we ever go back to the Kamigawa plane, it’s possible we’d use the original ability because that's where it originated and it is iconic to that,” an experienced designer stated. “However on other planes, since the rules are cleaner and Sneak is what's going to be Standard-legal, it’s probable that we'd use Sneak.”

That second variant of the leader Turtle, Sewer Samurai, is one of four cards with unique artwork designed specifically for the expansion by TMNT co-creator the co-creator.

Oh, and, if you're shocked by the rules text on Turtles Forever card, which lets you play game cards that aren't in your main deck, many players were. But as per the developers, that's now a legal card in every format of Magic.

Anyway, below are the highly unusual full-art lands from this set:

As per Wizards of the Coast's existing guidelines, these cards are fully legal in Magic’s Standard play. Developers state they took care to ensure the cards and gameplay elements worked smoothly with other Standard sets such as Edge of Eternities.

“I headed the design for 15 months and we were aware it would be Standard-legal and which sets were going to be near it in Standard,” a lead designer says. “Our goal was to make sure that there's synergy with certain expansions including Edge of Eternities.”

As an instance, each of TMNT and Edge of Eternities include a Izzet archetype focused on artifact cards.

“They combine to offer the pieces for a enjoyable Standard deck,” the designer says.

Preconstructed Commander: Turtle Power!

After declining to design any Commander precons for the Spider-Man set and the upcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender expansions, Wizards is reversing course with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This time it’s just a single precon, but it includes six distinct legendary cards that can serve as your Commander depending on how you pair them (five cards include a unique Partner mechanic called “Character Select” that allows starting with two commanders in the command zone rather than only one). Take a look below:

This Commander deck is set at $69.99, though the price may rise based on popularity. Wizards told that it contains 43 new cards in total, which means an additional 37 Turtle-themed game cards in addition to the six legendary creatures pictured above. (Doing some rough math, that also means about 20 reprinted cards if we estimate the precon comes with 37 land cards.)

What will the Turtles edition of Sol Ring look like? We’ll just have to wait and find out.

TMNT Bundle (Standard Edition)

Typically, the company is selling a collection. It costs $69.99 and contains the following:

  • Nine Play Boosters
  • 15 Traditional foil basic lands
  • Fifteen Non-foil land cards
  • 2 helper cards
  • One Foil promo card
  • 1 Oversized spindown life counter
  • One Card-storage box

Pizza-Themed Bundle

Here’s a unique concept for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, mostly in that it is packaged in a box resembling a pizza delivery box. Every pizza-themed bundle is priced at $99.99 and comes with the following:

  • Nine Standard Boosters
  • 1 Collector Booster
  • Twenty-five Non-foil pizza lands
  • Five Traditional foil pizza-themed lands
  • 2 Traditional foil pizza bundle promo cards
  • 2 helper cards
  • 1 Large spindown life counter
  • One storage box

For those curious about the “Pizza Bundle promo card” is, it’s basically a reprint of an older card with all-new Turtle-themed artwork. The team showed an example for the popular Magic card Dark Ritual featuring art of Splinter adding black licorice pieces onto a pizza slice. There are six distinct Pizza Bundle promo cards available.

This special bundle launches a few weeks after the main set on March 27, 2026.

Draft Bundle

This special bundle is made for a four-person draft and costs $119.99. It includes:

  • Twelve Play Boosters (the perfect amount a group of four to play draft)
  • 1 Premium Booster (aka, the reward for winning)
  • Ninety Non-foil basic lands (to build your draft deck)
  • Ten Non-foil double-sided tokens
  • One Draft insert (a one-sheet guide to drafting the set)

Cooperative Play Set

Finally, Wizards are introducing a new concept with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as part of its continued initiative to develop Magic game products aimed at beginners. Here, the cooperative set is a special set of decks that let you and a friend join forces to face a “Boss” enemy deck that plays automatically.

The general idea is that every Boss card gives unique powers to the creature cards contained in the boss deck. The Boss automatically plays one other card each turn, and you’ll start off fighting {one Boss|
