Former Red Bull chief Horner Reportedly Reaching Out to Various Formula 1 Team Principals
Former Red Bull chief Christian Horner is apparently "contacting nearly every team principal" as he attempts a comeback to F1, according to Aston Martin F1 top executive Andy Cowell.
The British racing team is included in the teams that are associated with Horner.
The team executive stated he had confirmed the circumstances with team owner Lawrence Stroll recently at the Singapore GP.
"It looks as though Christian is getting in touch with most team bosses at the moment," said Cowell.
"I can definitively state there are no plans for the engagement of Christian in an management or financial position in the future."
Additional Squads Respond
Haas team principal Ayao Komatsu disclosed that Horner had "reached out to" the American squad but added: "No progress has been made. It is finished."
The French manufacturer managing director Steve Nielsen stated the squad's senior consultant and de facto boss Flavio Briatore was "long-standing acquaintances" with the former principal.
The Alpine director added: "I'm unaware what they talk about. All I can confirm is there are no arrangements for Christian to come to Alpine but that isn't to say it might not transpire."
Williams boss James Vowles confirmed that the ex-chief had not approached them.
"We're very happy with the structure we have and it's functioning," the team principal said. "There's no cause to change from that."
Historical Information
The ex-Red Bull chief is eligible to rejoin F1 by the second half of the coming year after finalising a separation agreement with Red Bull on 22 September.
The 51-year-old was let go as Red Bull's chief after the British GP in the month of July.
Several informants at the racing team have suggested the agreement deal was worth 60 million euros (£52 million).
