Star Refutes Anti-Vaxxer Stance After Lending His Voice To Contentious Covid Documentary

The "Taken" star has given his vocal talents to a recent film that questions the efficacy of immunizations and lauds former health official RFK Jr.

The Documentary's Contentious Origins

Named "Plague of Corruption," the documentary is adapted from a well-known publication published by a controversial scientist, who became famous during the health crisis for claims that the illness was a result of a problematic version of the influenza shot.

Her collaborator, a producer, has also written books with conspiracy-prone media personality Alex Jones. He recently posted hailing Neeson's involvement in the documentary.

A Firm Rebuttal

A spokesperson for Liam Neeson have provided a response strongly denying implications that he subscribes to anti-immunization sentiments.

"Many acknowledge that corruption can exist within the pharmaceutical industry, but that cannot be equated to being against vaccines," the statement states. "He is not, and remains not, against vaccines. His long work with the global charity underscores his consistent support for global immunisation initiatives."

The statement continued that the performer was not involved in crafting the documentary's editorial content and that concerns about its content ought to go to the producers.

Key Claims In the Film

As presented, the script spoken by Neeson makes several strong claims:

  • It claims that pro-immunization voices have insisted on "unconditional submission" to public institutions.
  • It declares that "medical science has become deeply politicised."
  • Kennedy is featured claiming, "The major issue with vaccines is that they simply are not safely tested."
  • It further attacks stay-at-home orders, claiming they caused psychological harm that led to the loss of thousands of lives.
  • Concerning pandemic shots, it mentions a perspective that they were "hurriedly approved" and seen as "risky trials."

Historical Background and Current Debates

The film also references a 2004 BBC documentary about AIDS medication trials on children, which was afterwards the topic of a BBC apology by the network for violations of guidelines.

Recently, RFK Jr instructed the Centers for Disease Control to change its official position that there is no causal relationship between vaccines and autism. This claim is repeated in the documentary, contrary to a recent study from the World Health Organisation confirming no connection has been found.

A Past Position of Advocacy

Standing in contrast to the documentary's narrative, Neeson has previously expressed strong support for vaccines in his capacity as a Unicef global ambassador.

In 2022, he referred to vaccines as "an extraordinary triumph," adding that "The conversation about vaccines in recent years has forgotten how much benefit they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest collective achievements in our history."

"Plague of Corruption" finishes with Neeson's voice saying, "This is not the end of our story. This is the start of a fresh chapter."
