Attorney General's Statement

The nation's top law enforcement official, the Attorney General, confirmed the prosecutor's departure on the start of the week. Bondi stated that the appeals court finding made it impossible for her to effectively run her office.

"But do not mistake compliance for surrender," Habba stated. "The effort will now stretch across the country."

Her resignation follows closely on a federal appellate panel determined that she had been serving in violation of the law as US attorney. This ruling is could influence numerous criminal cases in New Jersey.
