Two Individuals Charged for Jail Killing of Lostprophets Singer Ian Watkins
A pair of suspects stand accused of murder following the jailhouse death of one-time Lostprophets vocalist and convicted child sex offender Ian Watkins.
Samuel Dodsworth, 43, and Rashid Gedel, 25 have both been charged with murder and are scheduled to appear in Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, as stated by law enforcement officials.
Watkins, forty-eight, was serving a 29-year sentence at HMP Wakefield, with a further six years to be served on licence, after pleading guilty to multiple sexual crimes including the tried rape of a very young child.
Watkins was arrested after the execution of a substance-related warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a significant quantity of computers, mobile phones and data storage units were seized.
